Constitution of National Awardee Teachers' Forum

Introduction:

We, the national awardee teachers, have seriously resolved to bring ourselves on a nationwide platform; this platform will work to maintain the dignity of the post of teacher at the national level and to protect the rights of the awardee teachers and to maintain an environment in accordance with their respect. This platform will play its role in preparing and implementing education policy at the national and provincial level.

The objective of this forum is to promote the spirit of unity, integrity and welfare of the awardee teachers; to ensure healthy brotherhood and understanding among themselves and with other like-minded organizations; to promote the academic discipline and career of students.

For this, an academic cell of the forum will be created and seminars, webinars, capacity building workshops, training, orientation and competitions will be organized from time to time to improve the academic level, self-discipline and career of the students.

 

Aims and Objectives of National Awarded Forum:

 

We have adapted following aims and objectives for our National Awardee Teachers Forum:

Aims:

1. Recognize Excellence: To honor and celebrate teachers who have demonstrated
exceptional performance and dedication in the field of education.

2. Promote Professional Development: To provide opportunities for continuous
learning and professional growth among awardee teachers.

3. Foster Collaboration: To create a platform for award-winning teachers to collaborate, share best practices, and innovate in teaching methodologies.

4. Advocate for Education: To represent the interests of teachers and advocate for
policies that improve the quality of education.

5. Inspire Others: To motivate and inspire other educators to strive for
excellence in their teaching practices.


Objectives:

1. Organize Events and Workshops: To conduct regular workshops, seminars, and
conferences that focus on advanced teaching techniques, educational research,
and leadership skills.

2. Mentorship Programs: To establish mentorship programs where awardee teachers
can guide and support less experienced educators.

3. Resource Sharing: To develop a repository of teaching resources, including
lesson plans, research papers, and instructional materials, accessible to all
members.

4. Policy Advocacy: To engage with policymakers and stakeholders to advocate for
improvements in educational policies and teacher welfare.

5. Networking Opportunities: To facilitate networking opportunities for awardee
teachers to connect with each other and with educational leaders from various
sectors.

6. Community Outreach: To initiate and participate in community outreach programs
that promote education and literacy.

7. Research and Innovation: To encourage and support research and innovation in
education by providing  recognition for outstanding contributions.

8. Recognition Programs: To continue recognizing and rewarding excellence in
teaching through various awards and honors.

9. Publication of Educational Material: To publish journals, newsletters, and
other educational materials that highlight innovative practices and success
stories from awardee teachers.

10. Global Collaboration: To establish partnerships with international educational
organizations to share knowledge and best practices on a global scale.

11. Dignity of Awardee Teachers : To maintain the dignity of awarded teachers and
make efforts to protect their interests.


We all award winning teachers keeping our dedicated faith in securing the environment of upliftment of education in the country, we adopt, enact this constitution of the Forum on this day 23rd July 2023 Sunday.

The constitution of this Forum is classified in the following article.

Article 1.

Name: The Association shall be called "National Award Winning Teachers Forum". It may also be referred to as "Forum" and NAT Forum in future. The name may be changed as required during the meetings of the Forum on the basis of two-thirds (66%) majority of the members.

 

Article 2.

Motto: The motto of the Forum shall be "Shikshakanam Hitasya Rakshanartham".

 

Article 3.

(A) Membership:

Any teacher from India who has received the National Teachers Award or National ICT Award or any equivalent award can become a member of the National Award Winning Teachers Forum. On the decision of the National Executive, teachers awarded at the state level can also become members of its provincial unit.

In future, to expand the association, teachers awarded at the state level can also be included in its provincial committee.

Every member is bound to become a bona fide member of the Forum by paying the membership fee fixed from time to time for his membership.

(B) Termination of membership:

 

Any member of the Forum shall lose his membership on the ground of indiscipline and contempt of the constitution by a simple majority of the members present and voting for a certain period, and shall also be removed from the post. The membership period and the membership fee shall have to be deposited from 1st April to 31st March every year. If the fee is not deposited by the month of September, the membership of the member shall be automatically deemed to have ended.

 

When the executive members and office bearers of the Forum retire from their original teaching post, they shall be considered automatically relieved from their post in the Forum. In view of their work, they shall be included in the Forum as special invitee members in the role of advisor and guide on the recommendation of the President and General Secretary in the organization, but it shall not be a constitutional post, hence the invitee members shall not participate in the voting.

 

(C) Termination of membership:

Membership of the association may be terminated in the following situations:-

 

(a) When the resignation of membership is accepted by the concerned officer/executive committee,

 

(b) When the members display harmful behaviour or indiscipline against the Forum, which will be decided by the Executive,

 

(c) When they become members of any political organization and obtain a post,

 

(d) When the membership fee is not deposited every year.

 

Article 4:

Quorum: Along with the quorum of the Forum, the Executive will be constituted by simple majority.

 

Article 5:

Tenure: The tenure of the Executive will be for a period of 2 years.

 

Article 6:

Executive Body of Forum:

NATF will have a 11 member National Executive consisting of:

1) President- one

2) General Secretary- one

3) Vice President- two

4) Secretary- four

5) Treasurer- one

6) Spokesperson- one

7) Organization Secretary- one


8) Core Committee Member- Four

9) Special Invitee Member (Advisor/Guide)- five

 

Similarly, at each state level, there will be a 21 member Provincial Executive of National Award Winning Teachers consisting of:

 

1)      President- one

 

2) General Secretary- one

3) Vice President- four

4) Secretary- six

5) National Representative- two

6) Spokesperson- one

7) Core Committee Member- five

8) Special Invitee Member (Advisor/Guide)- five

 

Article 7.

 

Powers and functions of the Executive:

 

(1) The President

 

(a) shall preside over the meetings of the Forum.

 

(b) shall approve resolutions of the Forum.

 

(c) shall coordinate the functioning of all Executive members.

 

(d) shall cast the deciding vote in case of a tie.

 

(2) The Vice-President

 

(a) shall officiate during the absence of the President.

 

(b) shall look after the election affairs of the Forum.

 

(c) shall assist the President in all normal circumstances.

 

(3) The General Secretary

 

(a) shall be responsible for all correspondence of the Forum.

 

(b) shall keep a record of all minutes and proceedings of the Forum.

 

(c) shall convene meetings in consultation with the President.

 

(4) The Secretary

 

(a) shall be responsible for all correspondence of the Forum.

 

(b) shall keep a record of all minutes and proceedings of the Forum.

 

(c) shall prepare drafts for correspondence.

 

(4) The Treasurer

 

(a) shall be the custodian of the funds of the Forum.

 

(b) shall keep a record of all income and expenditure of the Forum. (5) Core Committee Members

 

(A) Will participate in the policy decisions of the Forum.

 

(B) Will coordinate between the state and central units.

 

(6) Special Invitee Members (Advisor/Guide)- Five

 

(A) Will give suggestions to the Forum from time to time.

 

(B) Will guide the state and central members and office bearers.

 

(C) Since this post is not constitutional, will not participate in voting.

 

Article 8:

 

Financial arrangements

 

(a) The following will be the main sources of income of the Forum:-

 

1. Annual membership fee,

 

2. Special assistance money received from members for specific works,

 

3. Money received as per rules for the mouthpiece of the Forum,

 

4. Other miscellaneous receipts

 

(b) The main heads of income and expenditure will be the following:-

 

1. Office expenses,

 

2. Printing expenses as per requirement,

 

3. Expenses for meetings,

 

4. Publication of the mouthpiece of the Forum,

 

5. Other miscellaneous expenses

 

Contribution of the state and the center - The state unit will be responsible for collecting all types of fees and money. Out of the amount collected by the state unit, the state unit will keep 80 percent of the amount for its own expenses and provide the remaining 20 percent contribution to the National Forum.

 

Maintenance of funds - At the state and national level, the President and the Treasurer or Co-Treasurer will open a joint account in a nationalized bank or post office and operate it. For withdrawal or expenditure of funds for any work, the approval of the General Secretary as well as at least two Secretaries will be necessary.

 

Note: - The management of various funds of the Forum will be according to the bye-laws.

 

Article 9:

Amendment in the Constitution of the Forum:

The Constitution is subject to amendment by way of addition, deletion or amendment approved by a two-thirds majority of the members present and voting.

 

Article 10:

Office of the Forum:

For the operation of the Forum, its office at the national level will be in New Delhi. If necessary, provincial and regional offices of the Forum can also be opened on the basis of majority, the location of which will be decided by the Executive.
